    Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Nowak

    born on 12th November 1960 in Cracow -  a Polish historian and publicist; a professor of humanities, a professor at the Institute of History in Polish Academy of Science (PAN), a professor at the Institute of History at Jagiellonian University (UJ); an editor in chief of a bimonthly ‘Arcana’. Presently a member of the Polish-Russian Historic Commission PAN-RAN, of an editorial college of “Kwartalnik Historyczny”, “Dzieje Najnowsze”, ”Studia z Dziejów Rosji i Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej” and “Rocznik Instytutu Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej”; also a member of the Central European Committee and the Central European Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU). In years 2006-2010 a member of the Archival Council at The Head Office of State Archives, a member of the Council of Museum of the History of Poland, and also a Vice President of Historians’ Council at the National Bank of Poland (2007-2010).   more>>

  • Dr hab. Andrzej Waśko

    Ignatianum Professor Andrzej Waśko, PhD. (born in 1961) – a literary historian and culture expert, a research worker at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University and the University of Philosophy and Education in Cracow, a journalist and commentator. He is also a researcher into Polish Romanticism and the author of books entitled: ‘Romantyczny sarmatyzm’ (1995) and ‘Zygmunt Krasiński  – oblicza poety’ (2001).    more>>

  • Dr Miroslaw Boruta

    (born on 21st November 1960 in Cracow) – Polish sociologist, social activist and Senior Lecturer at the Pedagogical University in Cracow. His major field of specialisation is the history of social thought as well as political and family sociology. In 2011, in the annual ranking of lecturers carried out by the ‘Dlaczego’ magazine and the ‘ocen.pl’ website, he was  announced the fifth best lecturer in Poland and the first in Cracow.    more>>

     

  • Dr Elżbieta Morawiec

    (born on 5th October 1940 in Będzin) – Polish theatrical and literary critic as well as commentator and translator. She a graduate of the Jagiellonian University (1965). In 1982, she defended her doctoral thesis at the Catholic University of Lublin. Between 1959-1964, she was a member of the Polish Students’ Association and between 1975-1980 she was a member of the Polish Journalists’ Association. At present, she is a member of the Polish Writers’ Association and a chapter member of  the Józef Mackiewicz Literary Award. Currently, she is one of the editors of ‘Arcana’, she also writes to ‘Didaskalia’,  ’Teatr’, ‘Dialog’, ‘Kultura’, ‘Odra’, ‘Théâtre en Pologne’, ‘Życie Literackie’, ‘Gazeta Polska’ and ‘Nasz Dziennik’.    more>>

  • mgr Michał Soska

    (born on 7th October, 1982 in Katowice), Polish political scientist, teacher and translator of German, a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Studies, Gdańsk University. The author of articles published in ‘Słowo Młodych. Biuletyn Stowarzyszenia Arcana Historii’, and a commentator in the ‘Myśl Polska’ and ‘Nasza Polska’ biweeklies. The laureate of the Third Prize by the President of the City of Gdańsk for his M.A. thesis on the subjects related to Gdańsk.    more>>
